Michael Schmidt

Michael Schmidt is the founding partner of SSC Management Consult and has held top management consultancy positions since 1993.

Key projects in his 24-year career as a consultant include:

    Dr. Björn C. Manstedten

    Dr. Björn C. Manstedten is a partner at SSC Management Consult who has worked in various management consultancy positions since 1992.

    During his many years as consultant in Germany and other countries, Dr. Manstedten successfully managed and implemented diverse projects in the financial services sector. Key projects in his career as a consultant include:

    • Formulation of business segment strategies and private customer sales concepts
    • Reorganisation of sales (optimisation of the branch network, adaptation of the product portfolio, optimisation of pricing, design of sales processes and structures) at numerous Sparkasse banks
    • Development and implementation of concepts and measures to significantly increase active sales and marketing time in the savings banks market
    • Development of the S-Group organisational model (Modell Verbund) (optimisation of collaboration between the savings banks and their S-Group partners) in collaboration with the German Savings Bank Association (DSGV), the savings banks and the S-Group partners (LBS, Versicherungen der Sparkassen, DekaBank, S Broker, Deutsche Leasing)
    • Implementation of organisational model P (customer-centric and efficient service processes in the deposits business and services segment) in the front office (Markt) and front office service departments (Marktservice)

    Dr. Björn C. Manstedten holds the academic degree of Diplom-Kaufmann in business administration (Betriebswirtschaftslehre) from Cologne University. He gained a PhD in entrepreneurship from the University of Dortmund (Dr. rer. pol.).

    Markus Keggenhoff

    Markus Keggenhoff joins the Management Team of SSC Management Consult on 1st September 2018 as a partner. He has worked within the Savings Banks Financial Group for more than 30 years.

    Markus Keggenhoff was a board member of the Kreissparkasse Altenkirchen before joining the management team of the DSV Group (publishing company of the German Savings Banks) in 2013. In this position, he was responsible for sales and among others for the successful realignment of the sales department which should focus on the recent challenging client demands. Further tasks were the development of a digital sales channel and the implementation of a client and topic oriented marketing.

    Due to the ideal combination of his broad experience as board member in a savings bank and as managing director for sales, he is aquainted with all current topics and projects of the German Savings Bank Financial Group.

    Within the past years, Markus Keggenhoff successfully managed and implemented the following key projects:

    • Realignment of the savings banks sales department of the DSV Group
    • Reorganisation and development of sales structures in various savings banks
    • Development and realisation of growth and efficiency strategies
    • Implementation of a sustainable cost management
    • Reorganisation of the lending operations back office

    Ralf Pötter

    Ralf Pötter is a partner at SSC Management Consult. After completing a commercial apprenticeship at a savings bank he went on to study law, gaining an additional economic qualification and passing the 2nd State Examination in Law.

    Before becoming a consultant he spent more than 5 years as manager of the executive board office at a savings bank in Lower Saxony.

    Key projects in his career as a consultant include:

    • Implementation of customer centric and efficient processes in deposits business and the services segment (organisational model P)
    • Design of the S-Group organisational model (Modell Verbund) in collaboration with the German Savings Bank Association (DSGV), project savings banks, regional associations, S-Group partners and Finanz Informatik
    • Strategic project to assess the impacts of demographic change on private and corporate customers
    • Reorganisation of the lending operations back office
    • Optimisation of central departments at savings banks (including the restructuring of the organisation department)
    • Reduction of centralised and decentralised IT costs (on the basis of FI-Faktura, inter alia)

    Dr. Thomas Paul

    Dr. Thomas Paul is partner at SSC Corporate Recovery. He has been supporting companies in special situations for more than 20 years and is a lecturer on the subject of recovery and restructuring.

    Key projects in his longstanding career as a consultant include:

    • Company status analysis and qualitative evaluation of alternative restructuring measures (out-of-court settlement versus structured bankruptcy)
    • Support to the management in the implementation of operational and financial emergency measures, some as an interim member of the company’s executive bodies
    • Advisor and coach to companies in special situations
    • Preparation and support in insolvency plan proceedings on a debtor in possession basis (pursuant to sections 270a and b of the German Insolvency Ordinance, InsO)

    Dr. Thomas Paul gained a degree in commercial industrial engineering (Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen) from the Karlsruhe University of Applied Science and then went on to study International Business at the University of Berkley. He gained a PhD from the University of Dortmund while employed there as a research assistant (Dr. rer. pol.). He has been a lecturer on the subject of recovery and restructuring in the Heidelberg University’s Business Department since 2013 and is also academic advisor to the IfUS Institute for Company Restructuring and Development, Heidelberg.

    Michael Dümmler

    Michael Dümmler is director and a member of the management team at SSC Management Consult and has worked within the banking sector for more than 30 years. Since 2001, he has focused on supporting credit institutes, affiliated partners and associations of the German Savings Banks Financial Group.

    During his many years as a consultant, he has management and successfully implemented various projects within the financial services sector:

    • Development and adaption of strategic concepts
    • Support within merger projects within all project stages
    • Development of business segment strategies in private and corporate customer business
    • Overall bank optimisation and restructuring

    Stephan Oellers

    Stephan Oellers is director and a member of the management team at SSC Corporate Recovery. He has been a management consultant to financial service providers for 14 years, before which he employed with Sal. Oppenheim.

    During his time as consultant, he has managed and successfully implemented both strategy and reorganisation projects:

    • Reorganisation and cost reduction projects for financial service providers
    • Strategic realignment of service providers regarding their sales activities
    • Reorganization of sales department (adjustment of product portfolio, optimization of pricing, sales network and processes)
    • Status quo analysis of enterprises and evaluation of alternative restructuring measures
    • Support of companies through restructuring measures

    Stephan Oellers graduated from the University of Maastricht with a masters degree in economics (Wirtschaftswissenschaften) and a specialisation in international management.

    Thorsten Zucht

    Thorsten Zucht is director and a member of the management team at SSC Management Consult. He has worked within savings banks for 20 years, of which 10 years in leading positions.

    As division manager of the process and sales management and the SparkasseDirekt he was responsible for the private and corporate client business, the medial channels as well as organisational development, IT and eBanking.

    During his many years as a consultant, he has managed and successfully implemented various projects within a major Westphalian savings bank and focused on the following topics:

    • Implementation of the standardisation strategy by bundling the cross-channel process responsibility within the organisational segment taking into account the IT
    • Core team member and (sub-)project manager within the conceptual and implementation projects "Sales strategy of the future for the private and corporate client business" (Vertriebsstrategie der Zukunft im Privat- und Firmenkundengeschäft (VdZ PK und FK))
    • Innovation manager regarding the digital transformation in order to establish new paths concerning e.g. a marketable "online advisory center" with video advice, customer service center 2.0 and business line for corporate clients
    • Projects regarding OSPlus_neo (banking application), Internetfiliale 6.0 (online branch office), cash logistics, online banking security, paydirekt (direct payment service)

    Thorsten Zucht has studied Economics at the Fachhochschule Münster focussing on organisation and controlling and successfully graduated as a Diplom-Betriebswirt (diploma in business administration).
